CITING DETAILED REPORT OF SEPTEMBER 2021 FROM PLANNING INSPECTOR  HEARING IN MAY the Secretary of State dismisses Planning Appeal for Housing Development at Woking Football Ground

Residents are naturally delighted and hugely relieved by these outcomes, and gratified to see that the major points we have been making since summer 2019 have been largely upheld (yet again).

We are working our way through the almost 200 pages published, but wanted everyone to know ASAP that we won (again)!

Here are a couple of links:

  1. New Woking FC stadium and 1,000 homes won’t be built as developer’s appeal thrown out. Campaigners against the proposed tall buildings are ‘delighted and relieved’. See Get Surrey Link.
  2. Secretary of State dismisses stadium development planning appeal-Tuesday, 14 December, 2021: “The Secretary of State has dismissed a planning application appeal by developer, GolDev, to redevelop the Laithwaite Community Stadium and surrounding area. The decision follows a two-week Planning Inspectorate public inquiry earlier this year, following GolDev’s planning appeal into the decision by Woking Borough Council’s Planning Committee to refuse planning permission at its meeting on 23 June 2020” See Woking Borough Council link.

Thanks as ever to our fantastic community for all your support over the past few years!

Merry Christmas and Best wishes for (hopefully) a Happy New Year and 2022.
